Pastor J.B. and Susan Whitfield have been willing and able servants of God who have not only inspired multitudes to come to Christ, but also have continued to lead, teach, and assist ministers to be the person God created them to be.
Pastor Whitfield is a man who ministers the uncompromising Word of God with boldness and enthusiasm. His love for people and God is evident in each dynamic message he preaches. Knowing where he was before Jesus came into his life, Pastor Whitfield ministers with joy, authority and experience on how the Word of God will change your life forever!
Today AFC is a diverse, growing and vibrant congregation of believers endeavoring to serve God and serve others at both the Clemmons and Statesville, NC campuses.
Pastor Whitfield is the President and Founder of International Covenant Connections Fellowship (ICCF), a ministerial organization which focuses on leadership training for the five-fold public ministry as well as business leaders and entrepreneurs. He is the President and Founder of Impact University, a teaching and practical training Bible college headquartered in Clemmons, NC offering numerous degrees including pastoral, counseling and theology. He is the Founder of the Triad Dream Center of Winston-Salem, NC which includes a substantial food pantry, clothing boutique and other assistance for the needy. He is the North Carolina State Director for Christians United for Israel, a pro-Israel organization with over 2 million members.
He also serves as a Board Member for numerous ministries and churches throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean.
He has authored several books including: The Daily Dose of Joy, This Joy That I Have, Salvation More Than Heaven, S.O.S. A Simple Outline for Soul Winning, and What To Do When Things Go From Bad to Worse. Small Group DVD curricula include The Force of Joy and The Prevailing Principles of Prayer.
Pastor Whitfield holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion with a minor in Psychology, as well as a Masters in Theology.
Susan Whitfield has dedicated her life to prayer. Her lifestyle of prayer has positioned her to be used by God to impart into others this powerful gift. As Prayer Coordinator, she oversees all of the prayer groups at AFC. Susan teaches Prayer School, not only at AFC but also to other ministries and churches in the United States, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, where she is very active in assisting in the establishment of consistent prayer ministries. Susan is the North Carolina State Director for Daughters For Zion, the prayer support arm for Christians United For Israel.
Pastor Murray Kartanson

State University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from Life Christian University and a Master of Theology degree from Impact University. He serves on the Board of Directors for several churches, non-profit organizations, and businesses. He also teaches at Impact University. He is a City Director for Christians United For Israel. His responsibilities at AFC include financial oversight, human resources, security, information technology, facilities and grounds maintenance, and custodial services, as well as overseeing the church’s Connection Centers, Life Groups, Ministry of Helps, Salvations, Discipleship, Weddings, Funerals & Hospitals. He and his wife Sue, a registered nurse, have four children and currently six grandchildren. And he spends his free time travelling, shooting sporting clays, and fly fishing.
Pastor Robert Barr
Impact University / Creative Arts Ministry Pastor
Pastor Robert Barr joined the AFC staff in 2002 and has led and served in many different areas of the ministry. He currently oversees Impact University and our Creative Arts Ministry. He married his best friend, Marilyn, in 1997 and they have two children. His biggest accomplishments are earning an undergraduate degree from Winston Salem State University and a Master’s in Education from Wake Forest University. He enjoys Superhero and Kung-Fu movies!
Pastor Michael Watson
Student Ministries / Foreign Mission Pastor

Pastor Michael joined the staff in 2005 and oversees the Satellite Campuses, Counseling, and Outreach. He is married to Pastor Belinda Watson. Together they have two grown children, Grant and Courtney. They love going on adventures, for instance, a previous favorite was climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. Pastor Michael also loves Nascar and ice cream.

Her greatest desire is to teach children the Bible in exciting, creative ways so they can use what they learn in their daily lives. She wants every child to be encouraged and know God created them with awesome gifts that make them special! Pastor Belinda does a little acting on the side and is also the first female winner of the Bailey Farm Hot Pepper Eating Contest in 2015.

He joined the staff in 2009 as the Youth director and is currently the Student Ministries and Young Adult Pastor. He and his wife, Kristy, have two grown daughters, Taylor and Chandler and they also have two beautiful grandchildren. They love vacationing at the beach, hanging out downtown, and eating good food with family. He also loves working at out the gym and raises his own flock of chickens.
