Local Missions
Part of the vision for Agape Faith Church is to perform ministry into the local communities. Our church's local outreach programs are directed by a group of volunteers serving as the Agape Faith Mission Center. The purpose of the Mission Center is to "raise up ministries in excellence, unity, and love to reach individuals, families, communities, nations, and the world with God's redemptive plan". Currently our goal is to reach communities and areas within a twenty-five radius around Clemmons NC. We will be enlarging our territories and blessing more people in the future with our outreach ministries. The following ministries are now part of the Missions Center.
Care and Share Ministry
Agape Care and Share has been a part of the outreach mission of the church almost since its inception. Care and Share is our food pantry ministry. It is housed in a 4,000 square foot building located at 3650-G Patterson Avenue in Winston-Salem. We partner with the Second Harvest Food Bank and other local businesses to receive food to give to those who are in need.
As the saying goes, “You can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, or you can teach him how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.” Not only do we provide food, but we also assist individuals and families with basic training in areas such as learning how to write a resume, job interview skills, and personal budgeting. We recognize the need for practical training in a wide variety of areas and constantly strive to prepare our staff and volunteers to minister to the whole man. We also teach the Word through special services at this location, and prayer is offered to anyone through our trained prayer counselors.
Isaiah 58 Ministry
Isaiah 58 is our community-based ministry. Many years ago, the Lord challenged Pastor Whitfield to read Isaiah 58 and to use it as a model of ministry to the surrounding community. A mobile ministry, Isaiah 58 goes into a community and provides special events, which might include food, games for children, praise and worship music, teaching of the Word and prayer. Our goal is to reach all people within that community.
Isaiah 58 also coordinates other community special events such as “Operation Thanksgiving Blessing.” Through this event we bring hundreds of people to our church for a special service the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving, and then provide them with a complete holiday dinner to take home to their families.
