Disciples In Deed
On July 14, 1987 Pastor Whitfield was walking back and forth across the front of the church calling in the harvest. God told him He couldn't send the harvest. When Pastor asked why, God said, "Because you don't have people trained to disciple them." This began a ten year journey in various means of discipleship that eventually culminated at a staff planning session on November 13, 1997. While praying and interceding for the lost, Pastor Whitfield experienced a "birthing" in the Spirit. The Disciples In Deed Ministry was born and early in 1998, Pastor began training the church on how to make disciples through the Word, Prayer, Fellowship, and Witnessing.
Disciples In Deed (DID) has developed into a ministry whose purpose it is to assist every person crossing the doorway of AFC to be discipled and to become a discipler - "every member a minister." This ministry is dedicated to ministering to the unique needs of each person in the harvest that God has for Agape Faith Church .
The primary focus of the DID Ministry are the First Time Attenders, Members, and Salvations of Agape Faith Church.
First Time Attenders - those attending for the very first time. Understanding that each one was directed by God to AFC for a specific purpose and to be available as willing vessels, directed by the Holy Spirit, to see that purpose fulfilled.
Members - those who have committed themselves to serving at AFC through their time, talents, and tithes. Understanding each member has a God-ordained purpose for being planted and rooted here and, as such, requiring constant love, care, encouragement, and edification to "bear their fruit in season."
Salvations - those giving their heart to the Lord Jesus Christ through one of the ministries under the covering of AFC. Understanding each new birth bears responsibility for love, care, feeding, and discipline to enable the complete purpose of God to become manifest in their lives.
Disciples In Deed consists of the following areas of ministry: Salvations, Shepherd's Fold, Servant's Heart, and First Touch.
